For the past three years, students studying public relations at USU have been named the state’s Public Relations Students of the Year. They gain professional experience through class partnerships with local businesses and through participating in True Blue Communication—a student firm with real-life business clients.
PR students are concerned with maintaining the public perception of an organization, business or person. A PR specialist may be involved with image building, media relations, event planning, crisis management, web communications, social media, etc. Guided by PR practitioners, USU students develop the skills they need to hit the ground running upon graduation.
Students in the USU PR program launched True Blue Public Relations to serve clients with needs in public relations, multimedia, event planning, advertising, marketing and graphic design. Students work for credit or pay.
USU’s Public Relations Student Society of America chapter aims to create an active learning environment for PR students, students from other majors, and professionals to network, and to educate them about current trends in the field and help build a strong foundation for their career path.
